Our first guests

We've had our first guests visit this weekend. Jeremy and Leslie came up and have been spending time with us. We went to the farmer's market on Saturday morning. I love this place! I will probably go back every week!! Here's just a few pics I took of flowers around the square.

Internet, television, and laziness

We finally got our internet hooked up at home. It's been great! We also have an antena (sp?) for our t.v. That's been great too.... except that I can't seem to get as much done around the house now. I don't even watch it that much. But I haven't made much progress on my new apartment. *Sigh*

As soon as I get some more stuff set up, I'll take pics and send 'em your way.

OH! I found the coolest vintage store in town! They have their clothes divided into different decades. 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and etc. So cool. I think I've found my new weakness. I've already spent some moolah there! Whew.

T-Minus 3 days!

Well, we've done some packing. This takes a little work, you know? We're moving slower than expected, but I'm pretty sure we're gonna get it all done. I'll be away from the net for a few days, but then again, I don't post everyday. So you won't even be able to tell! ;)

Wish me luck. Off to pack more boxes.

T-minus 6 days

I had my last day of work today. It was a busy day. Almost all our rooms were filled, and almost everyone was checking out. No one made a big deal about this being my last day, which was okay. I didn't want a big tadoo anyway, especially since I had only been there for 2 months.

Well anyway. I got to go home early, too. Which I'm glad about. I came home and slept for 2 hours! Boy did I need that! Then Daniel and I ate dinner and made our (hopefully) last trip to Wal-Mart. Of course, who knows if we'll have to go back before our move? Wal-Mart is just down the road from our new apartment, so I'm sure we'll have lots of wal-mart runs in the future.

My future days will consist of packing. That's it. So wish me luck with all of that!

New Jewelry

I know some of you might be shocked to see these pics, but I'm posting them anyway. Really, it's okay! Also, sorry for not telling some of you about this first (i.e. Sissy)! I got a new peice of jewelry yesterday! My sister-in-law did too. Did it hurt? Umm... yeah. But I like it.

Finality

Well, they finally got Mom's headstone finished. It came just in time for her birthday. Weird. Here's a couple pics of it. Kinda makes it more real... not that it's not real, but you know. I think Dad and I did a good job of picking it out. It's really pretty. Pretty stone.

Hello world!

Hello my friends!

I know, I know... it's been a while. A long while! My life has been so crazy recently. I haven't had time to do much of anything! I don't really even have time to update on how busy I've been. But alas, here I am... trying to update.

Let's see... to make an incredibly long story short, I'll just give the results of the past few weeks.

We're moving!!! Daniel and I are moving to the northwestern part of the state... in TWO WEEKS! Can you believe it? He got a job working on web development. We got an apartment. Now we're going to pack and move in two weeks. So exciting. A little nervous, but mostly thrilled! I will have to post pics of our new apartment once we get everything setteled.

That's all for now. I'll try to be better about posting.

Growing older

It may just be that I turned another year older this week. It may not be. It may just be that I see tons of people all day at work. But I'm getting older... I have officially moved into the "ma'am" world. I can't get away from it. It's not so much older individuals that call me ma'am. It's the young ones. The students. The 14 year old construction workers that cause my headaches all day. Ugh. They look at me like, "Ooo, you're cute. But you're too old for me." Come on guys, I'm not that old. Not to mention, you're not my type. I can only imagine by the time I'm 80 years old, nurses in white uniforms are gonna call me sweetie and honey. How weird this world is...

A quiz about me

Go take a quiz about me and see how much you know about me! It's for fun, so don't stress out!

Garrison Starr

I found someone new. Garrison Starr. She's this cool folk type rocker. I went to a concert she did just the other night. I first met her in the bathroom. That was fun. We had this intimate, 5 minute conversation about music, life and love. We really bonded! After the show, I went up and got a pic with her. So, here 'tis.

Fun times at work

Well I started my new job. I've been working quite a bit for training purposes. So far, I've really enjoyed it! I think that if I ever move, I will look for another job at a hotel. I'm getting most of it down. And I've really enjoyed the interaction with people. Of course, Saturdays and Sundays are the slowest days of my work week. But it's good to have some down time, as well. Just bring a good book. Anybody got suggestions for books that won't put me to sleep?

florida

Wow, have we ever been busy! We went to Florida this past week to visit a friend of mine. We were supposed to be back on Tuesday, but guess what? That's right, we didn't. We Got stuck behind an auto accident missed our plane. Actually, we missed the 30 minute cutoff before the plane was to take off. Missed it by 5 minutes. Ugghh. So we looked into another plane ticket, greyhound bus, car rental, train... Nothing we could really afford or desired. So, my friend drove us to my sister's house in Georgia. Then my sister drove us home the next day, Thursday. I started my new job the next morning, so sleepy. Only got 4 hours of sleep after about 3 hours from the previous 3 days! Anyway, we got home. And we got to spend a bit of extra time with my best friend. So all in all, I'm getting over the lack of sleep, but I'm glad I got to spend more time with friends. Isn't that right, Lyd? When I get home today, I'm going to put my pics up. Of course not all of them, just a few highlights! Yea! Okay, gotta get back to work now.
